The Best Indian Restaurants in the World

Indian cuisine is as diverse as the country itself, although many of the restaurants deemed to be among the best in the world serve North Indian cuisine. What you consider the "best" will vary depending on your preferences. Some might even argue that the best Indian food in the world comes from street stalls in Delhi and Bombay then from a five-star restaurant. There are some Indian establishments, however, that have received considerable and consistent praise from diners and critics alike, making them strong contenders for the best Indian restaurants in the world.
  1. Bukhara

    • Bukhara is one of the most renowned restaurants in India. It is in the ITC Maurya Hotel in New Delhi and features cuisine from the Northwest frontier in Pakistan. Its specialty is kebabs and tandoori cooking. It is consistently one of the highest rated restaurants in India.
Bukhara's accolades include The Times Food Award, 2003, 2004, 2006, and 2007 and the Golden Fork awards in 1991. In 2007, Restaurant Magazine named Bukhara the 37th best restaurant in the world.

Located in the winding lanes of Old Delhi, the restaurant is nearly a century old and specializes in kebabs and Mughlai cuisine.
