Things to Do in Old Town in Orlando, Florida

Old Town is a replica of an "old town" located just outside of Orlando, Florida in the city of Kissimmee. Browse the shops, sip an old-time bottle of root beer and enjoy the pastimes of people in days gone by. Bring your camera, too, as you'll want to capture this little bit of recreated history. Be prepared for an afternoon or evening full of wholesome family fun.
  1. Special Events

    • On Saturday nights in Old Town, enjoy perusing the old cars from the mid-1970s and before, as they congregate and park on display. Talk with owners about their restorations and trade stories about your ride from the good old days.

On Fridays come see newer cars from the mid-1970s through the 1980s. Thursday night is Bike Night, where you'll see a variety of motorcycles, both old and new.

Other events include scheduled musical performances, a cornhole shootout that is sponsored by Budweiser, a safe family Halloween event and a pony show.

    Rides

    • See the Kissimmee region and all of Old Town from 60 feet above the crowds when you ride the wooden Ferris wheel at Old Town. In addition to the old Ferris wheel, the family will enjoy the bumper cars and a spin on the Tea Cups.

Small children and non-daredevil adults will love the artistically painted horses on the old carousel. Treat your speed demons to the Go Kart rides and the kids to a kiddie roller coaster called the Wacky Worm.

Tickets are available individually or in specially priced packages at a number of venues throughout the Old Town property.

    Shop

    • The Old Town General Store is an attraction in itself. In addition to the many staples it features (many people walk to the store from the adjacent Kissimmee hotels for lunch fixings and snacks for their hotel rooms) visitors will enjoy checking out the abundant collections of memorabilia from Coca-Cola, Pepsi-Cola and John Deere, in addition to its own selection of collectible items and souvenirs. Enjoy a soda from the old-time soda cooler and snack on a variety of old fashioned candies much the same way folks did at the five-and-dime a generation ago.
