Restaurants in Faneuil Hall, Boston

Known as the "Cradle of Liberty," Boston's Faneuil Hall dates back to the 1740s. Faneuil Hall began as a marketplace for merchants, fishermen, and meat and produce vendors and also provided a central meeting location for patriots, such as Samuel Adams. The historic location was scheduled to be razed in the 1970s, but instead was turned into a thriving marketplace thanks to the vision of Boston businessmen. Today, Faneuil Hall Marketplace consists of four distinct areas that contain more than a dozen restaurants.
  1. Durgin Park Restaurant

    • Guests enjoy Yankee cuisine at Durgin-Park Restaurant, which was established in Boston during the 1740s. Inside the famous Boston eatery, patrons dine cafeteria-style as the busy restaurant is filled with long wooden tables. Durgin-Park, named after two of its owners, is a place where diners can choose from a variety of dishes, including lamb chops, pot roast, and fresh seafood, which comes in two times a day. Meals begin with a slab of cornbread. The restaurant is also noted for its Boston baked beans and Indian pudding dessert.

    Dick's Last Resort

    • Dick's Last Resort bills itself as "the joint your mama warned you about." Dick's is not your typical restaurant. The waitstaff is trained to be rude so diners should expect some sass from their server, such as having napkins tossed at them or being forced to wear a paper hat. The restaurant serves barbecue items, such as a "Dolly Parton," which is a grilled chicken breast, and seafood that is served in stainless steel pails. The unusual atmosphere makes it a popular location for bachelor or bachelorette parties.
