The Best Place to Vacation in November

A vacation is many things to many people. Some want to see a new place they may have dreamed about visiting for decades. Some people want to get away to an exotic destination where they can see a new culture. Still others just want to sit on a beach and relax for a week. Whatever your preference, there's a destination for just about any purpose. Sandwiched between the summer and the start of the holidays, November is a great time to get away. As an added bonus, travelers can often find excellent deals during this time period.
  1. Tropical Holidays

    • Explore the Caribbean. The Caribbean is a sea located between North, South and Central America. Dotted largely with small islands, the Caribbean is a very popular tourist destination for visitors from around the world. November is an excellent time to explore this region. Much of the area is subject to hurricanes. Peak hurricane season is during the months of August and September. Travelers to this region will likely not face any tropical storms. November can also mark the very end of the less pricey season in this region. Prices for hotel rooms and all-inclusive resorts can double on December 1. The area's mild climate can be a welcome relief for those who live in areas where the autumnal glory of October has faded to the drab bareness of late fall.

    Parisian Escape

    • Paris is the capital and largest city in France. The city is full of all types of attractions. Visitors can see top-flight museums, eat at world-renowned restaurants or simply walk down the charming streets of a city that has been widely admired for centuries. November is an excellent time to see one of the world capitals of fashion, literature, gastronomy and the arts. Paris has an oceanic climate. This means that temperatures are often mild during the entire year. Average highs in November are typically in the mid-50s (Fahrenheit) with lows that rarely fall below the 40s. Certain nearby attractions, such as the Palace of Versailles, have large areas exposed to the outdoors. Strolling the gardens of Versailles can be even more pleasant when not confronted with high heat or freezing rain. Other attractions, such as the Louvre and the Musee d'Orsay, can be a delightful refuge from the occasional November cold spell.

    Explore Thailand

    • Thailand is an Asian country located between Burma, Cambodia, Laos and Malaysia. Visitors will find beautiful beaches and unique cuisine as well as sites of religious and cultural interest, such as the temple complex at Khao Phra Viharn and the Isan area, home to prehistoric artifacts and statuary. November is a superb time to visit Thailand. November is the start of the dry season, when the heavy rains of the rainy season taper off. Humidity also lessens, as well. This can make travel outdoors quite satisfying. November is also the end of typhoon season, making it less likely that visitors will be forced to cancel trips because of stormy weather.
