The record for the most languages spoken by one individual is held by Ziad Fazah, who speaks 58 languages. He was born in Liberia, and grew up in Lebanon, where he learned Arabic and French. He later moved to the United States, where he learned English. He has continued to add to his language repertoire throughout his life, and can speak languages from all over the world, including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Spanish.
