Is Turkish a European or an Asian language?

Turkish is an Asian language. It belongs to the Turkic language family, which is spoken in a large region of Eurasia. Turkish is the most widely spoken Turkic language, with around 75 million native speakers. It is the official language of Turkey, Northern Cyprus, and the unrecognized Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. Turkish is also spoken in other parts of Europe and Asia, including the Balkans, the Caucasus, Central Asia, and Western China.
