Is the Persian religion monotheistic or polythiestic?

Zoroastrianism, also known as the Persian religion, is an ancient monotheistic faith that originated in ancient Persia (currently known as Iran). While Zoroastrianism does involve veneration of other divine beings such as the Amesha Spenta and yazatas, they all are considered subordinate divinities or manifestations of God/Ahura Mazda and do not receive devotion as independent, separate deities on their own accord, thus making Zoroastrianism a henotheistic faith with monotheistic characteristics.
