Scammers or "salesmen" will do and say anything to get you to buy whatever they are selling. I was conned into buying a cruise vacation to Imperial Majesty Cruise Line. I got a free letter in the mail saying I won a free cruise! I called and they talked me into "upgrading" my package. They ended up with a $400 down payment on a cruise that was supposed to be free. I wanted out, they manipulated me into purchasing when I was not ready. They said if I called back after thinking about it the offer would no longer be valid. What I am trying to say is DO NOT let these con artists intimidate you!
If you were foolish like me, and gave into a salesman's tactics how can you get your money back? The truth is you may not be able to. Many of these companies record you as you "agree" and give them your credit card number. If they force you to be recorded, DO NOT purchase. This is a great warning sign. This gives them the legal right to take your money.
Depending on the state the company is in that has scammed you, you may be able to fight legally. Many states have formed groups against these scamming companies to protect people who do not know any better.
File a complaint to the Attorney General of your state, and he will contact the law of the state in which you were scammed.
Tell the company that you have filed legal action and will take them to court if they do not return your money in full. Most companies will not go through the process of going to court because it is too expensive. The key is persistence. If you do not want to take a trip then why should a company get your money? It does not make sense. Just keep these tips in mind!
