Apply for an AAdvantage credit card. American Airlines partners with Citibank to provide a selection of credit cards which reward members with AA miles. Rewards vary from card to card and may include miles for every purchase with extra bonus miles for spending a certain amount by a given deadline, reduced mileage charges for certain flights and fewer blackout dates for rewards flights. Business credit cards may provide extra miles for business and employee purchases.
Check the American Airlines website promotions section. Here you will find listed along the left hand column, all of the current flight and travel specials which reward participants with free AAdvantage miles. Some promotions include double miles on select flights, free miles with car rentals, and free miles for hotel stays. Click each link to find details, terms and conditions for each program.
Search for American Airlines partner promotions. Many times companies in other industries will partner with AA and provide free mileage bonuses for their customers. Liberty Mutual's 500 AAdvantage mile reward for customers who request a free insurance quote is one such examples. Partner rewards are always changing so do a current search and see what you find.
Search airline mileage promotional bulletin boards online. See Resources for information on these websites that list available mileage promotions across all industries and will sometimes feature hard to find options like online surveys and rewards for referring friends for online job search services. Surveys and other online services tend to be no-cost but may require you to register as a user.
Register as an AAdvantage Frequent Flyer rewards member and you will automatically receive 1,000 free miles as of 2011.
