Join the Dividend Miles program on the US Airways website. Navigate to the US Airways homepage, and click "Dividend Miles." Click "Join Now" and complete the fields on the next page to register for the program. Write down your Dividend Miles number or print your card from the website.
Learn how to accumulate miles. Earn miles by making qualified flights with US Airways or by providing your Dividend Miles number when making purchases with certain partner companies. Members earn at least 500 miles per paid flight. If the flight is longer than 500 miles, the member earns the number of miles flown plus any special bonuses. Partner companies usually base miles earned on the amount spent. A full list of partner companies is available at the US Airways website.
Give your Dividend Miles number to US Airways and partner companies when making reservations and purchases. US Airways requires that you "provide your Dividend Miles account number when you make reservations, check in at the airport and when you use partner services," as stated on the airline's website. Always verify your Dividend Miles account number is on file before completing transactions. Contact US Airways if your account has missing credits from miles earned more than 60 days ago.
Read correspondence from US Airways and check the US Airways website for special offers. The Dividend Miles program sometimes runs special offers allowing members to accumulate miles faster.
Keep your account active. In order to remain active, you must use your Dividend Miles account at least once every 18 months.
Verify your new Silver Preferred status when you have earned the required number of miles. US Airways requires that members "earn a certain number of Preferred-qualifying miles or segments within a calendar year." (See References 4) Your status should change to Silver Preferred within one week of earning 25,000 miles or completing 30 flights.
