How to Get PNR Status
Indian Railways is the largest rail network in Asia and operates approximately 11,000 trains every day, including 7,000 passenger trains as of 2011. You can easily check the status of your reservation on the Indian Railways website using your passenger name record, or PNR. You should have your booking ticket handy so that you can refer to it to enter the necessary information online.

Go to the Indian Railways website and click the "PNR Status" link in the upper-left part of the page.

Find the 10-digit PNR on the top-left corner of your reservation ticket. Enter the first three digits into the first blank field and the remaining seven digits in the second blank field.

Click "Get Status." To enter a new PNR, click "Clear" and enter the numbers again.
