Visit the Infopass website (see Resources) and select a language. InfoPass is an appointment setting system that allows a foreign national to set an appointment at a local USCIS field office. There, you can discuss immigration issues with an officer in person. You may also obtain an I-551 stamp.
Click the first "Click Here" to set an appointment with InfoPass. Enter your the zip code for your residence in the entry field. Click "Continue."
Highlight the radial dial for "You are a new Permanent Resident and have not yet received your Permanent Resident Card." Click "Continue." Click "Continue" on the subsequent page as well because you are seeking evidence for your new status.
Enter your full name, address, date of birth and phone number. Indicate the number of people who will join you at the appointment. If you and your dependents have received an approval notice, you may all go to one appointment together. Indicate the number of individuals in the drop down menu. Enter your email address. Refer to your I-797A approval notice for Adjustment of Status. Locate the "A" number listed under your name. Enter your A number excluding the letter. Locate the receipt number in the top right corner. Enter your receipt number including the letters. Double check your entries for accuracy. Click "Continue."
Designate a date and time for your appointment through the InfoPass system. Print your confirmation.
Carry your passport, I-797A approval notice and appointment confirmation for Adjustment of Status. Arrive to your appointment on time. Show your passport and appointment confirmation. Follow the directions of the officer at the door. Approach the window when your name is called. Inform the officer at the window that you have received an approval for your adjustment of status and require an I-551 stamp for evidence of your new status. The officer will stamp your passport and the passport of any other person with you.
