How to Get a Hertz Gold Card

Hertz Car Rental offers what it calls a premium membership plan for returning customers. A membership fee is the only requirement for a Hertz Gold card. In return, clients are promised a higher level of service, including quicker access to your rental vehicle and returns processed at the car itself instead of inside the rental office. Frequent users of the service obtain higher levels of Gold membership and can eventually obtain guaranteed reservations and upgrades on car and parking stall classes.

  Review the benefits of the Gold membership at the "Summary of Gold Benefits" page on the Hertz website. The table outlines what you will receive with the basic package, for the specified fee, and what is required of you to obtain higher levels of status within the program. As of 2010, the fee required for the program was $60 annually for the basic "Gold" membership.

  Click the "Join" button located near the bottom of the page of the Hertz #1 Club Gold program on the Hertz website (see Resources.)

  Enter your personal contact details, address, phone number, email, and driver's license number. Click "Continue."

  Complete all successive steps in the Hertz #1 Club Gold application. Call a customer-service agent or email the company if you have any issues or concerns (see Resources.)

  Check your mail for your Hertz Gold card.
