How to Check PNR Status

It is simple to check the status of your reservation on Indian Railways. Passenger name record, or "PNR," is the number given to the person who books a train ticket. If you want to check the status of your reserved ticket, you can go to the Indian Railways website and find it in just a couple clicks of your mouse. Make sure you have your booking ticket nearby so you can refer to the PNR listed on it.

     Go to the official Indian Railways website (see Resources).

     Click the "PNR Status" link in the top red bar.

     Locate the 10-digit PNR on the top-left corner of your ticket. Enter the first three digits in the first blank field and the remaining numbers in the adjacent field.

     Click the "Get Status" button.
