Wait 7 to 10 days after the initial application before checking the status of your passport application. Then, track your passport application online through the Bureau of Consular Affairs website.
Click on the link that tells you to securely input your information. On the following page, click the link to access all notices and disclaimers, and read through them. Then, go back to the previous page and check the box to indicate you've read the notices and disclaimers. Click "Submit."
Enter the appropriate information on the U.S. Passport Application Status page, including your last name, birth date and the last 4 digits of your social security number. Click "Submit."
