It's easy enough to sign up for any frequent flyer plan, but irregular travelers might have trouble keeping their miles with US Airways' Dividend Miles. Inactivity for a period of 18 months deactivates your miles. If you have ever found yourself forfeiting accrued mileage with the Dividend Miles program, good news is on the way: you can reinstate your miles for an additional 18 months. Maybe it's time to take that vacation after all.
Visit USairways.com and log in to your Dividend Miles account.
Place your cursor on top of "Dividend Miles" on the top menu and scroll down to the bottom of the menu that appears. Click the last link, "Support."
Under "Support" you will find a heading titled "Manage Your Account" in the middle of the page. Under that is a link to "Reinstate your Miles." Click the link.
Enter the required credit card information to buy back your miles. There will be a service charge for the reinstatement, based on how many miles you are recovering; however, each mile has a price in addition.
Visit USAirways.com and log in to your Dividend Miles account.
Find and purchase a First Class or Envoy Class ticket while logged in to your account.
Wait seen days before logging in to your account again. The Dividend Miles you've lost should be restored by this time.
