Book a trip. Each flight you make with Delta earns one mileage point for every mile flown. On occasion Delta offers promotions for members by awarding multiple points per mile flown.
Shop with Delta partners to earn miles; on the Delta website you can purchase dining gift cards, make spa reservations or purchase thousands of other items using your Delta SkyMiles number. Once your purchase is complete you've earned the designated number of miles stated for purchasing that item through Delta.
Apply for a Delta credit card (see Resources) and earn miles on every purchase. Filling up your gas tank, picking up a gallon of milk or indulging in a weekend getaway earns you points. Earning airline miles for purchase you have to make every single day is a "free" way of earning miles through Delta -- after all, you have to buy gas anyway.
