Start a Hilton HHonors account if you do not have one already. The HHonors Points program allows you to convert airline miles from participating airlines into HHonors Points. For every 5,000 Delta SkyMiles you convert you will receive 10,000 HHonors Points. You can sign up online at Hhonors1.hilton.com.
Contact the Delta SkyMiles program by email or phone to request a mileage transfer into HHonors Points. Contact information is available at the Delta SkyMiles website at Delta.com/skymilesenrollment. The mileage conversion comes with a mandatory charge of $30, so be prepared to pay this fee. Mileage transfer requests are usually completed within a day, but can take up to 72 hours in some situations.
Transfer your acquired HHonors Points into AAdvantage miles. You can simply make this request using your HHonors Points account. Select the number of points you would like to convert and choose American Airlines from the list of airlines that you can transfer your HHonors Points to. Enter your AAdvantage miles account information to complete the request. It is important to note that for every 10,000 HHonors Points you transfer, you will receive 1,500 AAdvantage miles.
Verify that your request was successful. The processing time can take up to 60 days. However, an express service option is available for a fee as determined by the airline. If you choose the express option, your request will take no more than 10 business days. After the estimated conversion time has passed, log in to your AAdvantage miles account at Aa.com/AAdvantage to verify that your miles have been correctly transferred into your account.
