How to Get Free Travel Upgrades on United Airlines

United Airlines offers a frequent flyer program called the Mileage Plus program. Rewards through this program include not only free flights, but free upgrades on flights that the member has already paid for. The Mileage Plus program has four status levels: Member, Premier Member, Premier Executive Member and 1K Member. The higher the status level, the more perks you receive. Members can raise their status level by earning a certain number of miles each calendar year.
