One of the nice things about modern casino hotels is their comp system. Most of the major casinos offer players all sorts of things for free including hotel rooms. However, they usually won't give you a free room just for showing up. In order to get a complimentary hotel room, there are certain things you need to do.
Sign up for a players club card at the casino and use it while you are playing the game of your choice. The players club card will get you into the casino database and show the casino that you are interested in playing in their establishment. They can also use it to track your playing habits to determine if you have earned a comp room.
Choose a game which will minimize your losses. Comps are generally based off of how much you play, not how much you lose. A good game to choose is blackjack or baccarat as these games generally have better odds for the player (but make sure you understand how to play the game before you start).
Introduce yourself to the pit boss at the table games. These men and women are the first gateway to getting that comp room. If they recognize you and know who you are, they will pay more attention to your playing habits.
Ask for a comp. Don't be afraid to do this. If you feel you have played a great deal at the casino, ask one of the casino hosts for a comp. Sometimes they may award you with one even though your play may not quite warrant it. Don't get angry, however, if they say no.
Be prepared to lose a lot. If you are really aiming for that complimentary room, sometimes a big loss can be the thing that triggers it. Remember, though, that a big win can have the same effect (a casino will want to keep you there if you win big, with he idea being that you will give them some of their money back.)
