Beginning January 1, 2010, you and your family can earn a free ticket to a Disney theme park by simply volunteering for one day of service with a participating organization.
The program, named "Give a Day, get a Disney Day", is to "recognize and add one more reason for celebration: the contributions people make to their communities every day," said Jay Rasulo, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts, in a press release entitled "Give a Day of Volunteer Service, Get a Day of Disney Theme Park Fun - Free, released by Walt Disney World Public Affairs.
Sign up to volunteer for the "Give a Day, get a Disney Day" program with a participating organization by going online to www.DisneyParks.com and type in "volunteer opportunities" in the search box.
Complete you day of volunteer service. "Wherever you live, our communities need our hands-on help to thrive," said Michelle Nunn, CEO of Points of Light Institute, in the press release. Opportunities to volunteer are located in the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada.
Have your day of service verified by HandsOn Network. this step is very important. If your service is not verified, you will not receive you ticket voucher.
Once verified, you will receive an email from Disney with a voucher. Print the voucher and redeem it for a free ticket at Walt Disney World or Disneyland.
