Write down your vehicle information before you call the shipping company or make a reservation online. You will need your car's year, make, model, style and color.
Decide from which port you want to ship your car and where you want to pick it up in Hawaii. Depending on the shipping company, departure ports are available on both the West and East Coasts, and pick-up locations are available on most of the primary islands, including Oahu, Kauai and Maui.
Prepare your vehicle for shipping. Make sure there are no leaking fluids and that the car is clean and in drivable condition. Empty your car of all personal belongings.
Take your car to the departure port. Give the shipping company the car keys, a copy of the vehicle registration, your booking information and a letter from any lien holder authorizing shipping.
Pick up your car at the designated arrival port in Hawaii. Shipping can take anywhere from one to four weeks, depending on departure and arrival ports.
