Make a checklist: This is the simplest method to making sure you have everything. Just write down what you are taking and check it off when you actually put it in the bag. Some people go wrong because they just check it if they think about it.
Label all medicine and put in clear bags: Make sure that all medicines are for the people in your party or you will have to explain. Putting the items in a clear bag makes it easier for screeners. Label them for distribution purposes. Put labelled bags in the carry on or purse of the person traveling with you. Of course, you should keep medicine away from children.
Pack in layers: Put the items you will need first on top if possible. This will decreae panicking, loss and disorder once you arrive at the location. I tend to think that medicines should always go on top, but directly below that should be any important papers that you need.
Keep important items with you if possible: If you are going to do a business proposal if possible pack it on a flash drive that you can keep on your person. If the laptop is delayed you can still do your presentation. Medications should always stay with you. Put them in your carry on or purse since these stand the least possibility of loss or delay.
Check airlines for prohibited items: If it is sharp or can be used as a weapon, it is most likely banned. With medicines, some airlines have a limit on the size a bottle can be and even the amount, usually a 30 day supply, particularly if it is a narcotic. If traveling overseas this is definately a must.
