The Caribbean Regional Virus Laboratory (CRVL) is a virology laboratory located at the University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine Campus in Trinidad and Tobago. The laboratory is part of the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA) and is recognized by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a Collaborating Centre for HIV/AIDS. The CRVL conducts research on HIV and other viral diseases, and provides diagnostic services and training to public health professionals in the Caribbean. The laboratory has also played a role in HIV vaccine trials, including the development and evaluation of candidate HIV vaccines.
