Measure the length from the back of your motorcycle seat (rider's position) to the directional signal, and the height from the bottom of the seat pad to the exhaust pipe. Use the measurements to gauge what size of Willie and Max saddlebag you should purchase. Your measurements should be greater than those of the saddlebag you purchase, by at least one inch.
Overlap the attaching yokes of your saddlebags, and thread one of the laces through the aligned holes. There are various holes to choose from. Lacing your saddlebags in this way means you can adjust the drop-length of the bags on either side of your bike. Tie a knot on the underside of the saddlebags to secure them together when you have finished lacing.
Mount the saddlebags over or under your motorcycle's seat, making sure the front of the bag slants forward slightly. The slant will be accentuated if you have selected Willie and Max's slant style bags, which protrude forward for aesthetic effect.
Use the remaining two laces to affix the bottom of the bags to your bike. Each saddlebag has eye-holes along the sides and bottom, allowing the lace to the threaded through and tied to the frame of the bike.
