1. Ensure the notary is authorized in Guam. Notarizations performed outside of Guam would need to be authenticated as well.

2. Ensure that all the pages of your document and the notary certificate are visible.

3. Ensure all parties involved in the notary procedure (notary and signer) are physically present.

4. Ensure that the proper form of ID is provided. Driver’s licenses and US government issued IDs are acceptable forms of ID. Passports are typically accepted by notary publics however other forms of identification that include a photograph and expiration date may also be acceptable. All forms of identification must be current and valid.

5. Ensure the signer/affiant is of sound mind and under their own free will.

6. Ensure the notary is provided the name(s) and role(s) of the parties involved in the notary procedure (signer and affiant).
