Know your destination. If you plan to travel and want to use an electric blanket, it is important to know where you're going. That might sound simple, but it's important to keep in mind that electrical outlet styles vary from country to country. If, for example, you're traveling to just one destination, this is easy. But people traveling throughout a region such as Europe may encounter several different outlets and they will want to be prepared.
Purchase an outlet adapter. These may be sold as singles or as a kit that contains a selection of adapters that will work in several different countries. Ideally, the various adapters will list their corresponding countries directly on them so there's no confusion. Some even come with a small carrying pouch which makes for easier packing and storage.
Check the plug before traveling. Insert the plug at the end of the electric blanket cord into the adapter or adapters that you will be using. It is important to have a snug fit so that the cord doesn't fall out of the adapter while in use.
