2. Pass the state licensing exam.

After completing the pre-licensing education, you must pass the state licensing exam. The exam covers the same topics as the education, and you must score at least a 70% to pass.

3. Apply for a license with the Florida Department of Financial Services (DFS).

Once you have passed the exam, you must apply for a license with the Florida DFS. The application fee is $50.

4. Activate your license.

After the DFS approves your application, you will receive your license in the mail. You must activate your license online before you can start selling insurance.

5. Maintain your license.

You must renew your license every two years by completing 12 hours of continuing education. The CE courses must cover the same topics as the prelicensing education.

By following these steps, you can become a licensed 4-40 insurance agent in Florida.
