Search for flights by departure and arrival dates.
Choose a departure and arrival city. Depending on the online travel agency website that you use, you may have to provide a departure and arrival airport code in place of a city name. For example, you would enter "CVG" for the Cincinnati International Airport.
Indicate that you're itinerary is flexible and you can depart and fly from nearby airports. If this option is not available, online travel agencies such as Priceline automatically provide a list of local airports that offer reduced airfares for the dates you selected. This option is done in an effort to offer you the best price.
Review similar airfares from different airports in nearby cities. A flight from Los Angeles, for example, could yield a list of airfares for flights from the Bob Hope International Airport in Burbank as well as the Los Angeles International Airport in Los Angeles, California.
