How to Travel From Moscow to Alaska

Moscow to Anchorage, Alaska is one heck of a long distance. Direct "as the crow flies" air miles between the two cities is almost 5000 miles. This is almost the same distance as Moscow to New York City. If you have a need to go from Moscow to Anchorage, consider taking a direct flight out of Moscow to an American connecting city such as Minneapolis, and make the connecting jump from there. Either way you look at it, you are traveling upwards of 36 or more hours.

      Book a flight from Moscow's Domodedovo Airport on Aeroflot to Los Angeles. The length of this flight is approximately 12 hours, with a connection in Amsterdam.

      Select a partner airline to make the jump from the Minneapolis-St. Paul airport to Anchorage. Aeroflot partners with Delta and offers fly-through trips where you need only to clear customs in the Anchorage Airport upon arrival.

      Fly from Moscow's Domodedovo Airport to Seattle (two connections) on Aeroflot to a West Coast city like Los Angeles or Seattle. This does not reduce flight and travel time, but offers another passage into the states and to Alaska. Select your connecting flight to Anchorage on Delta, or Alaska Air.
