Hotels in Terneuzen, Zeeland

The Netherlands province of Zeeland is located in the southwest corner of the country, along the border of Belgium. It is part of a region historically known as Flanders, which spills into neighboring Belgium and has been home to Flemish populations for centuries. The largest city in Zeeland is the port town of Terneuzen, which receives visitors from land and sea.
  1. Golden Tulip Hotel

    • The Golden Tulip Hotel is located at the northern tip of Terneuzen adjacent to the Scheldt River and the city's marina. Just outside the hotel lies the promenade, which bustles in the warm season, providing dining, shopping and views of the large ships pulling in from the North Sea. The Golden Tulip owns and maintains a number of hotels around the Netherlands, including in Amsterdam. The rooms, similar in each location, feature a private bathroom with bath or shower, color television and mini-bar. The Terneuzen location includes several rooms with a harbor view as well. The Golden Tulip also features the Lekker la Vie restaurant and bar, which focuses on fresh seafood from the nearby sea.

    Hotel Tollenique

    • Only a block from the Golden Tulip, Hotel Tollenique also sits on Terneuzen's harbor edge. While the Golden Tulip hotel is one of several around the country, Tollenique is a privately owned business. It developed out of a local snack bar that the owners opened in the early 1980s and expanded into what is now the popular Tollenique bistro. The accommodations include mostly double rooms with a handful of singles, as well as one apartment-style lodging. All include a television and private bathroom with shower, with the option of smoking or non-smoking. The pedestrian strip just outside the hotel features shops and cafes, as well as a cinema and stage theater.

    Hampshire Hotel

    • The Hampshire Hotel company has hotels throughout the Netherlands, and in Belgium and Germany as well. The Terneuzen location is also at the water's edge, but a couple of miles down the road from the two previous hotels. With most ships docking farther back at the marina, the view of the sea is a more tranquil one. As for the hotel itself, the 54 available rooms include color television and high-speed Internet; while all have private bathrooms, some of the more upscale accommodations feature an in-room bathtub. Also inside the hotel are an indoor swimming pool, restaurant and conference room reserved for guests on business.

    Hotel Triniteit

    • Located on the south side of Terneuzen is the Hotel Triniteit. Although a few miles from the water, the lodging is close to the city center, which features a large Zuidersport park as well as dining and shopping spots. The modestly sized hotel contains 15 rooms, all non-smoking, with color television and wireless Internet. Although breakfast is not complimentary, the hotel does offer to serve guests breakfast in bed on weekend mornings. The building is not very large, but contains a hotel-run bar and lounge, as well as a garden patio in the back where guests can relax.
