The New World Inn refers to itself as "Pensacola's downtown boutique hotel," and with the Palafox Pier also located downtown, the two can be found on the same street, only a block from each other. For those docking at the pier, the hotel is ideal. The rooms at the New World Inn are designed for comfort, with king-sized beds, throw pillows and traditional wooden furniture. A deluxe breakfast is included free of charge every morning, as well as a hand-delivered newspaper. The inn is part of the New World Company, which also owns the 600 South night club and New World Landing, a formal banquet hall. Both are located next to the inn and Palafox Pier.
The Crowne Plaza, otherwise known as the Pensacola Grand Hotel, with 15-stories is significantly larger than its boutique hotel counterparts. The hotel dates back to 1912 and has been the city's largest accommodation ever since. While not quite as close to the harbor as the New World Inn, the Crown Plaza is only a little more than a mile north of it. The more than 200 rooms all have queen to king-sized beds and all the standard amenities. There is also a handful of suites, which provide guests with a living and dining area as well as a full-sized kitchen. The hotel is ideal for large groups and events, with a 500-person capacity grand ballroom.
The Lee House is also located along the harbor, only a few blocks east of the Palafox Pier. It is perfect for those seeking a few nights in a quintessentially vintage Southern-aristocratic setting, which includes the hotel itself as well as the historic section of downtown in which it's located. The two-story architecture resembles that of a plantation mansion, while each of the eight suites, which look out onto Pensacola Bay, are furnished in their own styles, ranging from antebellum to contemporary. The hotel includes a host of common areas for guests, including a large modern kitchen, a gathering room equipped with a grand piano and an outdoor porch with ample seating.
Located on Palafox Street, like the New World Inn, the Pensacola Days Inn is a little less than a mile north of the pier. While not quite as close to the water as other hotel options in Pensacola, the Days Inn is a reasonable choice for those traveling on a budget. Each room is equipped with the standard amenities, including cable TV, mini-fridge and private bathroom. The hotel provides free continental breakfast as well as an on-site bar and grille. An outdoor pool is also available to guests during the warmer months of the year. Pets are allowed at this particular Days Inn for a small additional fee.
