Acacia Park is made up of 16 acres that include a dog park, edible garden, animal habitat garden, allergy free garden, baseball field, basketball courts, covered picnic shelters, barbecues, playground, restrooms and splash pads. The splash pads are open from May through September from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. and include water trees, waterfalls, water cannons and water rainbows. Acacia Park has free admission and is open daily from 6 a.m. until midnight.

Ethel M Chocolate Factory offers a free self-guided tour of the creation of artisan, sugar and kosher chocolate treats. At the end of the chocolate tour, everyone receives a free sample of chocolate. Afterward, you can stroll through the maze of paths in the three acre Botanical Cactus Garden, one of the largest of its kind in Nevada and one of the largest in the world. The Botanical Cactus Garden boasts 15,000 cubic yards of special sandy fill soil, 400 tons of rocks and over 300 different species of cactus. It is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Times are subject to change on holidays, and it is closed on Saturdays and Sundays.

Henderson is one of the best walking cities in America. The city features an extensive trail system with 38 parks to explore at no cost. The township recreation center conducts a guided tour every Tuesday for one hour, featuring a different trail each week. Many trails can also be biked for those with access to a bike. Also, stroll through the Henderson Farmer's Market located downtown. The Henderson Farmer's Market has been running since 1999 and is one of the largest in Southern Nevada. It is open every Thursday and often features chef demonstrations, live entertainment and free kids crafts.
