Just 22 miles south of Encinitas, the San Diego International Airport receives flights from over 20 different airlines including US Airways, Virgin America, American Airlines, Air Canada, Jet Blue, AirTran, Delta and AeroMexico. The small regional airport McClellan-Palomar Airport, which lies just 6 miles north of Encinitas, offers service for travelers aboard United Airlines Express which is operated by Sky West. The flights run between Carlsbad and Los Angeles with four to five flights a day starting as early as 6 am and ending as late as 9:15 pm.
Leaving the airport guests needing transportation either have the option of renting a car through Avis or Hertz, which both have reservation desks at the airport or renting a cab through Yellow Cab Of North County or Coach Cab. The airport also offers long-term parking for up to 30 days.

The Oceanside Municipal Airport, a public airport, lies 16 miles north of Encinitas. Managed by Airport Property Ventures, the airport serves mostly non-commercial flights, emergency medical helicopters and pilot training services. Since the complex doesn't serve major airlines, there are no public restaurants or shopping options in the terminal, although there are snack machines on-site and a restaurant, La Mission Restaurant, nearby, convenient for pilots and guests using the airport. Within just a few minutes of the airport, the Best Western Marty's Valley Inn offers affordable lodging. Visitors in need of transportation may either rent a car through Avis or Enterprise, which houses reservations desks at the airport, or use Yellow Cab, which frequents the airport.
