Passports can be applied for at the local post office. The application should be printed off the computer and filled out at home. Applicants will need two passport sized photos (which can be taken at your local drug store or department store), proof of citizenship and identification. The entire process can take up to eight weeks, so plan ahead when planning a trip.
Visas are required for those visiting the United Arab Emirates for more than 30 days. Upon entry, visitors, there for leisure or business, can apply for a visa at the port. Visas are valid for up to 90 days. Those traveling from Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Poland, Romania, Slovak Republic and Slovenia must apply for a visa for any length of stay.
