Passport Requirements for Bermuda

With its pink sand beaches, World Heritage Sites and location of only 570 miles from North Carolina, Bermuda is a popular travel destination for U.S. tourists. A few facts will make your trip make your cool and breezy.
  1. Entry Requirements

    • All U.S. citizens must have a valid passport to enter Bermuda, but no visa is required for tourists staying less than 180 days. Travelers also must have proof of transportation out of the country, like a return plane ticket or a ticket onward to another country.

    Vaccinations

    • No vaccinations are required for U.S. criticizes unless you have been in a country infected with small pox, cholera or yellow fever within two weeks of your trip to Bermuda.

    Transportation in Bermuda

    • There are no car rental facilities in Bermuda, but taxis are plentiful and you can rent scooters to tour the country. Remember, in Bermuda you drive on the left hand side of the road.

    Returning to the U.S.

    • The departure tax for Bermuda is $35 per person and it is usually included in the cost of your airline ticket. When returning to the United States, you will pre-clear U.S. customs in Bermuda. You must have a valid passport to re-enter the United States.

    Travel Tips

    • Electric current in Bermuda is the same as in the U.S., so you do not need a converter.
      Both Bermuda dollars and U.S. dollars are both accepted.
