When exiting Malaysia how much US money can you take out?

According to Bank Negara Malaysia (the central bank of Malaysia), there are no restrictions on the amount of foreign currencies that can be brought into or taken out of Malaysia, provided the following regulations are followed:

1. Travellers must declare any amount of foreign currency exceeding the equivalent of RM10,000 (approximately US$2,350) upon arrival or departure.

2. If the total amount of foreign currency (in any denomination) exceeds the equivalent of RM100,000 (approximately US$23,500), the traveller must submit the declaration form and relevant documentation to Customs.

It's important to note that these regulations are subject to change, and it's always a good practice to check with the relevant authorities or a reliable source before travelling. Additionally, it's worth considering the regulations and restrictions at your destination country when transporting large amounts of cash.
