Should a landlord reimburse tenant for utilities overage in North carolina?

North Carolina law does not require landlords to reimburse tenants for utility overages. However, some landlords may choose to do so as a matter of goodwill or as part of their lease agreement. If a landlord does not agree to reimburse a tenant for utility overages, the tenant may be able to deduct the overages from their rent payments.
