Why is the Hampton name Inn?
Hampton Inn is named after the hotel chain's founder, Conrad N. Hilton. Hilton purchased his first hotel, the Mobley Hotel in Cisco, Texas, in 1919. He later renamed the hotel the Hilton Hotel and began to expand his hotel empire. In 1954, Hilton opened the first Hampton Inn in Memphis, Tennessee. The Hampton Inn brand was created to provide a more affordable option for travelers than Hilton's other hotel brands. Hampton Inns are typically located in suburban areas and offer a variety of amenities, including free breakfast, free Wi-Fi, and an indoor pool.
