The Netherlands observes Daylight Saving Time (DST), also known as summer time. DST is a practice of advancing clocks by one hour during the summer months. The primary reason for implementing DST is to make better use of daylight, thereby reducing the need for artificial lighting and thus saving energy.
In most European countries, DST applies from the last Sunday in March to the last Sunday in October. This means that the clocks go back by one hour on the last Sunday in October, returning to standard time, also referred to as winter time.
