Information About Darien Lake

Darien Lake Theme Park Resort is a favorite summer destination for New Yorkers and Canadians. It offers more than 100 rides, live shows and other attractions. There is an amusement park, water park and hotel and camping accommodations. The Darien Lake Performing Arts Center, which is walking distance from the hotel, features A-list talent and is operated by Live Nation. In the fall, Darien Lake features FrightFest, with Halloween and autumn activities for all ages. Darien Lake is located in Darien, New York, between Rochester and Buffalo. The park is run by PARC Management, LLC.
  1. Rides

    • Darien Lake has rides for all ages and all thrill levels. Eleven thrill rides include the OCC Motocoaster, which launches riders from zero to 40 m.p.h. in just three seconds; Mind Eraser (the only suspended roller coaster in New York); and Ride of Steel, one of the tallest coasters east of the Mississippi. Family rides and kids' rides spin, twist and soak guests at Darien Lake.

    Water Park

    • Darien Lake's water park is included with admission and is located inside the park. It has a pirate-themed pool, wave pool and traditional water slides. Thrill seekers will want to ride the Big Kahana, a slide that is over 700 feet long, and the Tornado, a funnel-shaped slide that is 60 feet high. Cabanas are available to rent for parties of up to 10 people.

    VIP Packages

    • Two VIP packages are available. The Thrill Seeker Package includes admission, VIP parking, a ride on the Sling Shot and Skycoaster, "fast pass"--good for one ride on all coasters, a turn on the grand prix speedway, free photo on the OCC Motocoaster Motorcycle located in the OCC shop, a meal at Beaver Brothers Café, VIP seating for the Galaxy Theatre, $50 in Darien Dollars and all vouchers are given in a dry pouch. Purchase the package online at godarienlake.com for the best value. A VIP Fun in the Sun Package is available at the park. It includes a cabana rental, extra tubes, a meal at Beaver Brother's Café, VIP seating in the Grande Theater, fast passes for one time use on all coasters, $50 in Darien Dollars, Paddle Boat rentals, Mountain View Golf and vouchers provided in a dry pouch.

    Hotel

    • The Lodge on the Lake Hotel is located next to the park and is walking distance to the entrance. The rooms have two queen beds, a pull-out sofa, full bathroom, hairdryer and satellite TV. Suites are also available for large families or those that just want a little more room. Suites have a living room with a fireplace, sofa and chairs and an eating area with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, stools and table bar. According to godarienlake.com, suites can be adjoined to accommodate two families or one large family vacationing together. Prices of rooms include admission to the park.

    Camping

    • Darien Lake offers camping sites and RV rentals. There are over 1,500 campsites available to pitch tents or park your own RV. Site locations vary by price tier, but all include admission to the park and free parking. RV rental packages are available as well. Each RV is 35 feet long and includes a bathroom, shower, full or queen bed and two sets of twin bunk beds. RV rental packages include admission to the park. The location is within walking distance of the entrance. Pets are permitted in campsites with certain restrictions.
