Cheap Restaurants for Breakfast in Richmond, B.C.

With its proximity to the ocean, the mountains and the big city of Richmond, British Columbia attracts countless visitors every year. With so many people coming in and out of Richmond, the city has to have many restaurants that offer accessible and affordable breakfast foods. With a collection of chain restaurants and independent cafes, it is not difficult to find cheap breakfast options in Richmond.
  1. Chain Restaurants

    • Richmond is home to many of the same chain restaurants that you'll find in most major North American centers. For a cheap and familiar breakfast you can head to Denny's, the International House of Pancakes, ABC Country Restaurant or Ricky's. These restaurants all have standard menus that are consistent with locations in other cities. All of these restaurants offer breakfast fare such as pancakes, bacon and eggs, omelets and French toast. They also have lunch and dinner menus. For the most part, the entrees at these chain restaurants fall under the $10 mark.

    Eat While You Shop

    • The Ikea Cafe exists primarily to draw shoppers into the Ikea furniture store. For this reason, they offer breakfasts at very cheap prices, often less than $1 for an earlybird special.

    Asian Cafes

    • British Columbia is home to a large and vibrant Asian community and there are many Asian restaurants in Richmond that serve breakfast. Cheap Asian options include Dosa Grill, an authentic South Indian restaurant that serves breakfast as well as a lunch buffet. The Golden Coin Restaurant and Wonton House specializes in Chinese lunch entrees, but also serves an all-day breakfast consisting of Western fare such as omelets and bacon and eggs. The River Road Cafe also offers a mix of Western breakfast foods and Asian lunches, specializing in freshly baked muffins for breakfast and Korean cuisine at lunch time, as well as Western lunches like burgers and sandwiches. Top Gun J&C is a more traditional Chinese restaurant, offering an affordable Dim Sum in the morning.

    Breakfast Cafes and Diners

    • If you're looking for a cheap traditional breakfast but want to go off the beaten path and avoid a chain restaurant, there are plenty of inexpensive independently owned places in Richmond. If you're looking for entrees priced under $15, try the Blue Flame Grill, a small diner that serves up large portions of eggs and other standard breakfast items, as well as typical diner lunch plates. Fisherman's Boot Cafe is another independent diner and has been operating since the '80s. It also is known for typical "greasy spoon" menu items like omelets, bacon and eggs and grilled sandwiches. Grill 7 is an upscale restaurant and bar, has a breakfast menu of eggs, pancakes, breakfast burritos and other selections, all for under $10.
