Just north and west of the city within a 30-minute drive there are many other interesting activities for the kids to do. Families can drive 20 minutes north and ride the gondola to the top of Grouse mountain, walk across the Capilano Suspension Bridge or visit the park and fish hatchery, or go skiing, skating or hiking. Another options is to go west and beachcomb on Ambleside Beach or rent a kayak to explore from the water. Parents and kids can have a picnic at John Lawson Park, Horseshoe Bay or Whytecliff Park.
