Who was the first person to cross Atlantic?

Charles Lindbergh was the first pilot to successfully fly across the Atlantic Ocean solo and non-stop. On May 20-21, 1927, he flew his plane, the Spirit of St. Louis, from New York to Paris in just over 33 hours.
