  1. Summer Train Tours

    • From mid-May to mid-September, ARRC operates the Denali Star, the Coastal Classic and the Glacier Discovery routes. The Denali Star travels north and south between Anchorage and Fairbanks, with stops in Wasilla, Denali and Talkeetna. Board the Coastal Classic to see glaciers and Beluga whales between Anchorage and Seward. Visitors hoping to see Alaska's ice scenery may opt for the Glacier Discovery tour, which travels from Anchorage to Portage Glacier, Whittier and Spencer Glacier.

    • For more remote train travel, reserve a seat on the Hurricane Turn Train, which makes a 115-mile round trip from Anchorage to Hurricane. Locals use the train to travel to cabins and wave the train to stop with a flag. During the winter months, from October to May, the train runs only on the first Thursday of the month.

    Aurora Winter Train

    • Side trips available from stops on the Aurora Winter Train include dog sledding and cross-country skiing. The train operates weekends only from mid-September to mid-May, from Anchorage to Fairbanks with stops including Wasilla, Denali and Healy.
