Places to Swim & Camp Around Augusta Georgia

Augusta is both the second oldest and second largest city in the state of Georgia; therefore, it draws in travelers based on both its rich history and the amount of activities in the area. Tourists looking for outdoor adventures involving camping and swimming have several options located in the surrounding regions.
  1. Mistletoe State Park

    • At Mistletoe State Park, visitors have the option to stay in their own tent, trailer or RV. They can also select from a camper cabin which sleeps four, or one of 10 cottages, five of which are log cabins. Individuals can go boating, fishing, hiking, bicycling or canoeing. The park also offers programs to teach people how to avoid getting lost in the woods, and how to identify different animals based on their droppings. For those who wish to go swimming, a lake and a beach are available. However, they are only open to guests during the summer season.
