Monterey County has a fairly nice nude beach known as Garrapata Beach. This is a gorgeous area filled with caves and lagoons. Use the far northern area of this beach in order to avoid police raids. To reach Garrapata Beach, take Highway 101 to milepost 63.1. Then, take Highway 1 South for 9 miles after passing Rio Road in Carmel. Parking is permitted on both sides of the road. You may have to do some searching to find the trail, but be sure to use the trail rather than trying to go down to the beach on your own.
Andrew Molera State Beach is a nice spot for nude sunbathers. To find Andrew Molera State Beach, take CA 1 to milepost 51.20. This area is between the Big Sur campground and Bixby Creek Bridge. You will see the clearly marked entrance to the beach at this location. You will need to park on the side of the road and walk to the south of the Big Sur River at low tide.
Go to Pfeiffer State Beach if you would like to see a beautiful sunset. The nude area of this beach, at the very north end past the rocks, is relatively uncrowded due to cool temperatures. The beach is near Big Sur Center and Pfeiffer State Park. Travel on CA 1 30 miles south of Monterey. Then, look for an unmarked road on the west side of the highway. Park in the parking lot and then walk north on the sand until you pass the rocks.
