Remember to bring sunscreen, water, beach shoes, a first aid kit and leisure material. A picnic is a nice idea as well since there are no food vendors in the area. In order to park at this beach, you will need a parking permit, which you can obtain from the Town Hall located in Truro Village. These parking passes are valid for one week. Be sure to stay off of the dunes; not only is staying off the dunes an ecologically sound practice, it is also required by law.

Herring Cove Beach is the one nude beach in Provincetown, Massachusetts. This beach, which measures 40 by 100 feet, is located near Race Point adjacent to the Cape Cod National Seashore Beach. You will find the clothing optional section of the beach at the end of a parcel of marsh and woods. Herring Cove Beach has a very active nudist population. So active, in fact, that there are sections designated for lesbians and gay men. The lesbian section is to the left of the parking lot. There, you will find mostly topless women. If you go about a mile past that section, you will encounter the gay men's section and will likely find full nudity. Nudity is illegal in this area, but you shouldn't have a problem if you are at the beach during the day.
