Beginning as a small art show in 1958, the annual festival is held in June and sponsored by the not-for-profit Allentown Village Society. Allentown is near downtown Buffalo and traces its origins to 1827. Once a neighborhood in decline, the art festival has helped to develop the area into an arts center.
