How to Camp With a Swimming Pool

Today camping isn't about "roughing it" with few resources in the woods. Instead, it's more like bringing convenience and luxury into the wild. Some may consider the idea of bringing a swimming pool camping ludicrous but the solution is simple and cost effective. While it is true a full-sized swimming pool would be impossible to tote along for a camping trip, a small kiddie pool can be easily packed away for transport and unpacked and filled when you reach your destination.

Instructions

    • 1

Find the sort of kiddie pool that is right for you. There are two main types to choose from: inflatable kiddie pools that retain their shape and the non-inflatable type that requires being filled with water to hold its shape.

    • 2

Bring the pool that you select with you when you go camping. If you have an inflatable pool you must inflate it before filling it. If you have a non-inflatable pool you need only lay it out, entirely unfolded, before filling it.

    • 3

Find the water spigot on your campground or campsite.

    • 4

Attach a hose to the water spigot and place the other end in the pool. The required length of the hole will depend on the distance from the spigot to your pool. Turn the spigot on and let the water flow through the hose until the kiddie pool is filled to the water line, not to the point of overflow.

Enjoy lounging in your kiddie pool while camping.
